In the past the Kent Sunrise Rotary Club has been involved in projects in our local community as well as around the world.  Below are some of the projects our members contributed their time, talent and resources to:

 

  • Habitat for Humanity house building project
  • Medical Supplies to Russia
  • Visit to orphanages in Vietnam
  • Helped build Kindergarten school near Da Nang Vietnam 
  • SR 516 Highway Clean up
  • Donation of wheel chairs to the disabled in 3rd world countries
  • Rotary First Harvest work on Saturdays
  • Community Supper fund raiser at Crawford's
  • Dictionary Program to local 3rd grade students
  • Provide funds for a child's heart operation in Vietnam
  • Middle School Recognition of Students, Teachers and Staff
  • Club outreach to local businesses (South King County Activity Center, World Relief and Children’s’ Therapy Center, Pediatric Interim Care, King County Sexual Assault Resource Center)
  • Rotary International Centennial Sphere, a 6 1/2 ton Green Granite ball that floats on water, installed in 2009 at the Kent Town Square Plaza, a project of the Kent Sunrise and Kent noon Rotary clubs to commemorate the 100th anniversary of Rotary International in 2005.  Click here for photos showing the development of the Rotary Sphere.  Click here for link to Kent Parks and Recreation information on the Sphere.
